At a very early age Lena showed a keen interest in music and dance. When she was five years old Lena took her first piano and dance lesson, and by the time she graduated from high school dancing had become her life.

All the hard work and discipline paid off when she graduated, with Honors, from the very prestigious College of Music and Choreography in Ukraine. In 1993 Lena moved to Santa Barbara and started teaching ballet at The Music Academy of the West and Dance Unlimited. Shortly thereafter, she received the opportunity to learn and teach Pilates.

Now she is just as passionate about Pilates as she was about dance and constantly uses her knowledge of body awareness and movement to complement her 20 years of teaching the Pilates Method. Always concerned with her client’s well being, she brings enthusiasm, joy, and personalized attention daily to each and every client.

Lena received her Pilates Method Certification in 1998 from Rael Isacowitz, who is a world-renowned Pilates guru. In addition, she had the honor and privilege to teach the Pilates Method in London, Riga, and at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theater of Ballet.

Debora began her lifelong practice in movement over forty years ago when she joined a dance conservatory. Under master Eliana Brega’s training, she performed for many years with La Ballerina’s corp de ballet, a company in her Brazilian hometown in São Paulo.

Debora first came across Pilates in the 1980s from a fellow dancer performing in the United States. A walkabout, six countries, introduction to yoga, her life partner, two wonderful daughters, and Debora is back dancing and practicing Pilates again in California. She loves the body-mind connection that Pilates offers and the adaptability to work with all bodies and abilities.

Pilates is the right mixture of strength, balance, flexibility, and can meet your needs, whether you are looking for athleticism, rehabilitation, physical fitness, or simply wellbeing, all with great mental focus.
