Lena’s Studio not only provides its clients with a life changing Pilates program but also has yoga weekly and massages by appointment. The studio strives to have everything the clients need to tone, strengthen, center, and relax your body in one intimate setting. Together Lena, Justin, and Esther form a team that will help you revolutionize your physical and spiritual health.

At a very early age Lena showed a keen interest in music and dance. When she was five years old Lena took her first piano and dance lesson, and by the time she graduated from high school dancing had become her life.

 

All the hard work and discipline paid off when she graduated, with Honors, from the very prestigious College of Music and Choreography in Ukraine. In 1993 Lena moved to Santa Barbara and started teaching ballet at The Music Academy of the West and Dance Unlimited. Shortly thereafter, she received the opportunity to learn and teach Pilates.

 

Now she is just as passionate about Pilates as she was about dance and constantly uses her knowledge of body awareness and movement to complement her 20 years of teaching the Pilates Method. Always concerned with her client’s well being, she brings enthusiasm, joy, and personalized attention daily to each and every client.

 

Lena received her Pilates Method Certification in 1998 from Rael Isacowitz, who is a world-renowned Pilates guru. In addition, she had the honor and privilege to teach the Pilates Method in London, Riga, and at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theater of Ballet.

Justin received his 200-hour teaching certification with Debbie Williamson out of the Midwest Power Yoga. His advanced teaching techniques were honed with a LIVE, LOVE, TEACH power yoga course.

 

Along with the yoga personal training certification Justin received, he is also a gifted hands-on assistant with extensive knowledge of the human body, having earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering/Pre-med from the University of California at Irvine.

 

Justin teaches playful yet powerful vinyasa classes and lives by his motto "Yoga first, ask questions later!"  This mindset allows beginners to start taking classes when the time is right, not when they think they are good enough...The right time is NOW and we are all born 'good enough!’  Let Justin help you discover what has been inside you all along.

Esther Amir-Fazlian studied massage at Santa Barbara Body Works. At UCSB, she majored in Anthropology with a minor in Kinesiology. Since the age of 15, Esther has been drawn to a career in Sports Medicine. Her personal experience with severe injuries following a car accident helps her uniquely identify with the physical, mental, and emotional needs of her clients. She provides massage to a diverse clientele including athletes, dancers, businessmen/women and seniors alike. Esther’s massage expertise spans several modalities including Deep Tissue, Sports, Myofascial, Swedish, and Pre/Post Natal.  She has experience working with clients who suffer from chronic and acute pain, sports injuries, and automobile accidents.

 

Massage therapy targets primarily the soft tissues and joints of the body. It can help to stretch tight muscles and decrease pain by breaking up knots caused by overuse or stress. Massage also helps to increase lymphatic flow and lubricate joints to stimulate the healing process while preventing future injuries. In this way it can alleviate back pain, arthritis, sports injuries, tendonitis, whiplash, fibromyalgia and headaches. We offer a wide variety of therapeutic and relaxation techniques to personalize the massage to your unique needs.
